*Selected performances with ORCHESTRA & STAGING, others concert version with book in addition 
to aria/art song concerts. **Proposed Season may be subject to change, due to casting limitations, 
scheduling & budget restraints.

REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS: 
Mainstage Leading roles: 3 arias 
Mainstage Supporting/Comprimario roles: 2 arias, art or sacred songs or any combination thereof
Emerging Artist (Role Preparation) Program: 2 aria, art or sacred songs or any combination thereof
*NOTE: If singer would like to be considered for all opportunities listed above, only one  audition is necessary. If so, please prepare at least three arias.

 

MAINSTAGE REHEARSALS: 
Rehearsals are primarily scheduled 7-21 days prior to the performance. The scene shows usually have less rehearsal time than full operas.

 

EMERGING ARTIST PROGRAM: 
Role preparation program includes 10 hours of private coachings with one of our staff conductor/pianist/coaches in order to prepare a role. Each participant will be able to perform an aria from the opera for which they are preparing at the National Opera Center in our Emerging Artist Concert. Although there is no ticket requirement for this program, there is a fee to participate. If the role is from an opera that NY Lyric is performing this season, selected emerging artists may be offered to understudy or cover the role.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 
Audition fee for LIVE audition or by RECORDING. Accompanist provided for LIVE audition. Ticket requirement for all mainstage roles (except for roles with SPECIAL auditions). No pay.

 

VERY IMPORTANT: 
All singers must audition LIVE or by RECORDING at least ONCE per season in order to be considered.
